hello, i just wanted to post a few tips about skincare. all efficient skin care methods have to start off with what type of skin you have. i'm assuming all of you get moderate-severe acne. not mild or little.
the main types are (regardless of whether you are a boy or girl):
oily-smooth (usually Caucasians): this means you have very oily skin but you don't have dead skin cells on the surface(smooth). characteristics of this skin type: oily, shiny skin. BUT VERY SMALL TO NONE BLACKHEADS. you don't get blackheads easily. and if u do get a pimple it's a white head that's on the surface. now it doesn't mean you don't get acne. you can if use the wrong products or if you don't at least wash your face twice a day. people with this type of skin don't need to use harsh cleansers. in fact you might not have to use cleansers.plain water might be efficient enough. and ONCE IN WHILE you might use acne cleansers and masks. best products are the ones that target bacteria. and only ONCE in awhile use exfoliators scrubs.
oily-coarse (usually Asians): this is probably the worse type of skin ever. this means that you have an excessive amount of dead skin cells on the surface that aren't shedding properly and when combined with OIL, it's a bacteria fest. characteristics are lots of blackheads and you are prone to getting them. especially on NOSE and CHIN. AND of course the OILY SKIN. in the cleansing of this skin type, you should use products labeled as exfoliators, because that will shed the pile of debris that is your dead skin. the u.s. advertisements for acne products usually work for Caucasian skin because they typically target bacteria. but there are some products(exfoliators) that target dead skin cells. AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO USE A CLEANSER AT THE END OF THE DAY. there's two types of exfoliators: chemical types and the manual/physical types. the chemical types are the cleansers, creams, lotions etc. that contain a specific chemical, salicylic acid or glycolic. there are other types but salicylic is the most common. the manual exfoliators include(these are the best, affordable methods): a baby brush and facial sponge. to use these you wet the object and your skin and gently scrub your skin and wash in the shower. i prefer the manual types because after a certain amount of time, chemicals lose their effect while your dead skin problem is never going to change.
NOTE for all of you: -never repeatedly put your face under the water of your shower head while you are taking a shower. you think that your face is dirty and whatnot and you instinctively feel that you have to rewash your face with water in the shower periodically. DONT. you wash your face once with the cleanser or whatever and THAT's IT. leave your face out of the line of water. if you don't, you skin will be INSANELY DRY and that's worse. you ever wonder why it's so dry?
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! if you have questions just post.
