Hi, Im getting one in 3 days. My Orthodontist said it would be on for 1 week. I had the impressions and paperwork done last week but Now were going to go Monday to talk with him. So how do expanders feel? Im either getting them ont he top,bottom or both then I get my braces a week after. Im the first in my family to EVER get braces and none of my friends have them and I want to know how they feel (THE EXPANDERS! IVE READ ABOUT HOW THE BRACES FEEL!) And how does it feel when you turn it?,They take it off?,They put it on? How does it look? Thanks.

i had a pallet expander before i got braces. aftera while you get the hand of poking crumbs out of it with your tongue.

hi Lauren :D i have an expander now.. on the top. but i have to have it for half a year so it's weird that u only have to have it for a week .. ?? at first it was rly hard to swallow so there was a lot of spit. ew. and i thought i wouldn't be able to eat at all. but on the second day i was eating pizza. so it's really to adjust to. it took me about a week before i could eat mostly everything. but i am a much slower eater tho cos it takes a while to get the food out with ur tongue. and my tongue hurts sumtimes.. from rubbing against it all the time ugh and i have trouble talking too.. do u? xx
