When i am in school and someone gets way too close it's like I feel confined and my breathing starts getting faster. I also have a problem on the bus when theres a lot of us. I hypervenalated once and and I had a heck of a time calming down. Anyone have any suggestions to me? I hate hyperventalating because i feel like an idiot. Please me.

either avoid those kind of situations at all costs...or... force yourself into those situations every possible moment. You'll get over it. Thats how I got over a couple of my fears. I'm currently working on my inverted closterphobia....its weird.

My suggestion is to try to focus your mind else where for that particular moment or close your eyes and think of something completely different. I have in the past freaked out serverely because I've felt claustrophobic but I really believe that this can . If you find yourself in an environment thats too condensed for you, close your eyes, think of an open field (or somewhere else that you feel free) and breath deeply and slowly, concentrating on each and every breath you take. Like the person above me said, you could try avoiding these situations all together, but I don't think thats truly possible. So give my advice a try. It can't hurt you.
Good luck The slithe x x x

| I think arrangement might be the key here. Instead of taking the bus home, hitch a ride with your parents. Or when in the hallway in the mornings where there is a whole lot of people, go out when there are fewer walking around. I was once in the samne situation before so I know how it feels. | |
