I have these PAINFUL calluses on the heels of my feet and one on each of my big toes. They hurt so much, and I don't know what to do. I have seen a podiatrist, and she removed them, but they all came back. They make my feet burn with pain, and they are really annoying. If anyone knows of something that could me, PLEASE REPLY!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!! | |

Hi my name is Dr. El-Onsi and I am a podiatrist who practices in Quebec, Canada. I treat many foot and ankle conditions through medicine, surgery andn biomechnaical means. As my patients call me "the unique" podiatrist. First of all in reply to your question..thereis no definitive treatment for corns or calluses..patients will always get them becuase it's due to abnormal weight distribution of forces on each bone in the foot when you walk and also friction. Now what I tell my patients is you can never cure calluses permanently but you can minimize the reoccurence of the corns and calluses underneath each bone by realigning the foot bones back to their position and distriuting the forces on them equally. And hjow you do that is through a ctional device that you put in your shoe that controls how you heel strikes the ground when you walk. Now in answering your q a " ctional" or dynamic ( ie controls the foot when walking) is a device control abnormal movement in the foot by controlling abnormal motion across the jointd. This ontrol is often accomplished by limiting abnormal pronation of the foot. Pronation is a complex movement involving eversion ( turning out? of heel and forefoot. There is a corresponding internal rotation ( turning in) of lower leg and flattening of arch. ligaments become strained and work attempting to pull foot into more stable position. Studies been proven that ctional ort ics relieve 98% of ower back leg and hip pain. And as you get older your body physiology changes veryday with stress, the culprit! I hope this suffice.
