| When you have seizures, it depends on how often it occurs before you can't be on the highway. If it is under control quick, then you have to take various driving tests for six months to prove you aren't going to kill yourself or anyone on the road. However if you make a major traffic violation again such as Wreckless Driving, you could find yourself in jail. Pull the heck over if you get a hint that you might be getting ready to have a seizure. God Forbid the last thing you'd want is to find yourself apprehended, in custody, in the back of a police car. Don't get me wrong, they make these laws for your own good. Once you're wreckless, you are putting yourself at risk also. Which is better having a suspended license for medical reasons or being dead because you want the opportunity to drive. Just because you have a suspended license for medical reasons doesn't mean you are an irresponsible driver or a criminal. That means if you want to get behind the wheel in six months, in the meantime get the seizures under control, take the driving classes for the time period the DMV tells you so, and then if you proved you won't pass out, congratulations. Don't get busted for something stupid later. | |

| It has to be under control before you can get your license so that there are no ifs ands and buts to as if you are going to go into a seizure while operating a motor vehicle. If you talk to your neurologist about you being a hazzard to the highway, he can possibly contact the DMV to approve of you having your license. I don't know if you had seen a person fainting while driving but it becomes extremely dangerous more than a pursuit with the police. When it comes time for your next appointment, ask him if he can call the DMV to approve of you earning your license. If they hear from a professional that is experienced with seizures, that will convince them differently. After that, hopefully you can test for a license and get yourself driving. | |
