Alright so I guess two weeks ago I went to the doctor's because my throat was bothering me. He told me I had "sinusitis" so he put me on a bunch of medication that made me feel lousy and then I went back to school the day after I was at his office. I mean, even though I didn't feel better, my school is on block scheduling so if you miss one day, you miss ALOT!
The meds didn't so last Monday I went to the nurses office complaining about my tonsils. They were huge and bulging out of my neck. Both tonsils were covered in yellowish white gook and were extremely painful. My temp was 100.6 so the nurse had me call my mom. We went to the doctors and he ordered a throat culture and a mono spot test. I went to the hospital and they took my blood and the next day they called saying I tested positive for mono and that they couldn't do anything to me heal.
At this point my tonsils are so large that I can't eat anything at all except jello and no one can understand my talking. I haven't eaten an actual meal since the 13th and I've lost 6 pounds. I mean yeah, I don't mind I lost the weight because I've been meaning to drop a couple of pounds but I'm just bugged that I can't eat anything. I keep telling my parents that maybe I should just have my tonsils out but they always dismiss me and my ideas. I have no idea what I can do to this. My doctor gave me LIDOCAINE to drink four times a day that numbs my throat, but that doesn't me eat..it s me sleep!
Please, if you have any ideas at all it would be greatly appreciated because food is needed in my body..haha Thanksssss!

last year I had the flu in 2 different ways at once and currentlyi have tonsilidis pharangitis and strep throat at the same time I also had MONO in the 5th grade and well that does suck so i know how u feel in a way MISSERABLE

and by the way there are ways to treat mono sounds like your doc. dont know much because when i had it they treated me with AMOXICILIN it is a penicilin based medicen and it works pretty fast. GOOD LUCK!!!

Wow Jen...I'm sure that is tough. I remember the pain I was in before I had my tonsils removed. No one cared except my mother. Keep strong and hope is extant. Best wishes! -Emily
