| They block germs from going down in your throat. I had mine taken out because they were enlarged, so were my adenoids. I am happy that they are gone. | |

| They are two glands in the back of your throat to block and prevent germs from going down your throat. That's why if they get infected on a regular basis, you need to consult an MD if you're not sure. If your tonsils start to swell, it can block your breathing and can cause death. | |
