Ok...i have tried all sort os acne cleansers that you can by at the drug store...but i try it and it works for a week and then a week later it starts all over again! I don't have huge red zits just bumpy zits all over..and my face is kinda oily now but in the winter is it more normal feeling. I have been hearing alot about proactiv soultion and I have heard some good and some bad about it....well I just wanted to know if anyone with similar skin types to mine have tired it. Thanks a bunch! My mom is ordering it anyway....if this doesn't work then it is off to the derma. I will tell you my results when I get it..in the meantime...post about it please! Please remember to put what your skin is/was like, thats what tells me if it will work for me! THANKS!

well proactiv doesnt work i can alreay save from from saying that!
Kaylene profile 08-20-03 11:42 AM
My skin wasn't that bad. I used it and now it's REALLY great! It works differently on different people. It may work for me, but not for you.
Daisy Duke profile 04-09-04 7:57 PM
I've been using it for 3 weeks now and i don't really see much of a difference. it's worked better than the over-the-counter stuff i've used before, but i've yet to see 'wow' results. aaand my skin is plain horrible.
i guess i'll keep with it for 1-2 more months and see if anything happens.
Stacey profile 04-10-04 5:52 PM
i ordered proactive and it works great, the only thing about it is you have to be consistent cause if you use it then forget to, your skin will go back to normal, but thats only when u first start using it, after u are consistent for a couple weeks or so its ok to skip a couple days
dave 04-18-04 9:15 PM
My brother used it and hated it. He has oily skin, and he always has a couple pimples. After about 3 weeks of it, his pimples got worse and he started getting even more and they were a lot redder and bigger and they would last longer too. It would really dry out his skin but it seemed to make his pimples worse. After about 2 months of using it, he quit, and within about 2 weeks his skin got better.

Ive been using proactiv for almost 9 months. I didn't really have bad acne on my face but I wanted the body wash for my back and chest which had bad breakouts. the body wash works fine. But the face wash part works like after a month of using it. and you do have to be consistent. i found it really dryed out my face when I used to every day, so I would use it only once a day and use something else less strong at the same time. And as soon as you stopusing it for a few days, your acne comes back

i used to use proactive & it didnt work on me....but it does work on other pplz, u should try it
Danielle 08-27-04 11:12 PM
i got proactive and used it for for about a year and it helped a little...it cleared most of it up..but i still have pimples...and it really dried out my skin...so i've stopped using it. I'v heard that the benzoyl peroxide in it irrates the skin and causes it to break out more. But i works for some people..so buy it and try.
katie profile 02-28-05 4:15 PM
you should try it. one thing might work on someone that won't on another person. everyone is different. i've been using it for about a month. i don't have horrible skin so i wasn't expecting amazing results or anything, but i have noticed a general improvement and my skin is way smoother. i used to have big pores between my nose and cheeks and i don't anymore at all. also i break out less often

also, i noticed that a lot of people said it dried out their skin. you have to use the lotion that comes with it or of course your skin will get dried out!!!
I miss u hun profile 03-01-05 6:35 AM
I haven't use it yet but really want to try it but on here it sounds like if u have oily skin it dosen't work as well Jeck out my thing. The thing I have been useing seems to work not to bad right now. So try my stuff its not alot of money and u can get it from a store just near by if u want to try it just e-mail me and i'll tell u what store because at this point my brain isn't up yet its still early ok
kiki 07-18-05 2:07 PM
i was going to try pro active, but its like 50$ a month for one of the cheapest ones which i quite frankly didnt want to pay because i heard how you have to keep on using it, so i got this stuff called Klear Action, it has the EXACT SAME ingredients (with the exception of dyes) and is half the price, i loooooove it, i dont know if itll work for everyone, but it sure as hell worked for me! i think i just had really good results, because in about a week or so it was almost all the way gone!

I started using Proactiv 6 months ago. It worked for the past 4 or 5 months but now my skin is starting to break out again. My skin is mostly oily...especially in the summer!! It is still oily in the winter time, but just not as bad. I don't know what I'm going to do now.
VindicatedSoul profile 08-09-05 5:15 PM
I didn't use Proactiv, but I used this stuff called Acne Free which I found at wal-mart. The stuff works really well and I only used it once a day. I ran out of it though, and my mom got me this neutragena stuff but it works like crap. For about three days it worked and then..BAM more acne. I hate it!
Katie 10-23-05 2:26 PM
it didnt work on me but im trying something right now and it seems to be working good if it works out good for me i will tell u what it is later when i have more time
Ashly ;; Im hot. Your Not profile 04-16-06 10:01 PM
I used it and i noticed results right away. But not the WOW results you see on tv. But you have to be consistent with it. Also, it dried out my face, so i went to the Proactiv cart at the mall and got this special mosturizer. But it works on some people and not on others.. so try it.

I don't think proactive is suitable for teens.. that's juz my thought.. I believe there is a better alternative in the market which is great for teens....
Lauren profile 12-09-06 9:33 PM
i had minor acne, and the prescription the dermatologist suggested for me didn't work. i only had small pimples on my forehead and cheeks and sometimes my chin. i am currently using it, and its been working somewhat. different people get different results. my skin hasnt totally cleared, but i's better.

Proactiv is a huge scam. So WHY are P.Diddy and Jessica Simpson using it? Probably something to do with the truckloads of YOUR money they get paid to promote it.
Construction Guy in the OR profile 08-22-07 1:11 PM
Proactive does work for most people, but I haven't tried it myself.
Emily profile 03-09-08 7:22 PM
Maybe it might be worth it. I wouldn't trust those testimonies because everyone is an individual when it comes to acne, meaning out skin is different from everyone else.
Paul profile 09-29-09 12:38 AM
an almost sure way to at least lessen your acne is to swim in chlorine and in the ocean.
