Migraine From You-Know-Where
I've had migraines since I was in the fourth grade. They weren't that bad at first (if you can call any migraine "not that bad") I could go to school with them and do fine until I came home. The headaches lasted only two days or so, and then I'd be fine for several months. Well, since I started high school, my headaches have gotten steadily worse. They last much longer and are about 1000 times more painful and dizzying.
My worst migraine moment happened in May of my sophomore year (I'm a senior this year). It was semester tests week (of course), and I got a migraine from hell. I couldn't see straight, I'd fall over from being dizzy, and I couldn't get out of bed. Then, after missing two days of school, I began to throw up because of the headache. I ate nothing and threw up all fluids. It was horrible, and one of the worst times I've had in my life. I was so sick - it makes me dizzy just thinking about it. Anyway, after missing three days of school, Friday night, at about 9 o'clock, I decided it was time to go to the emergency room. The doctor gave me an IV with a mixture of benadril and some other medicine to make the migraine leave; I passed out when they put the IV in me, but it instantly made my headache go away.
I haven't had a migraine that has made me quite that sick again, but I do get them about once every two months or so. I have one right now, which prompted me to write this article. Has anyone else had an experience in the hospital because of a migraine?
