A Bad Idea and Bad Luck
I was 8 years old (or around that) in California. We were having a summer BBQ with the neighborhood, having fun with friends & eating good food. I remember my dad was about to leave to go to the store to get more food. I asked my dad if I could go along but he told me no.

I told my brother and friend so they suggested I should ride on the back of the bumper of his toyota 4x4 (with a camper shell)
My dad didn't notice me as I climbed on back waiting for him to leave.

I soon got scared and thought it was a bad idea, so I jumped off,but as I jumped off my dad backed up. The bumper hit me on the back and knocked me under the truck. All I remember after than is seeing the tire rolling towards my head while I said "@#*! I'm gonna die".

I woke up on my porch as if nothing happened only to see paramedics around me & a crowd of people. I looked around wondering what was going on. I felt an ozzie substance go down my head, so I put my hand on my head only to find blood.

I was than told that my dad's truck ran over my head. I then lay back down and the paramedics took me to the hospital. They put 3 wooden stitches in my skull and sent me on my merry way.

p.s.
We were so poor that we couldn't afford a second visit to the hospital to remove the stitches so my dad used pliers to tear out the wooden stitches outta my skull. Hahaha, just thinking about it  still makes me laugh to this day.
