Period/Birth Control...

(sorry kinda long!)
Ok, so I'm 17 and have had my period since I was about 7 1/2... early I know... Anyway I wanted to start birth control to regulate my period and because I am sexually active with my boyfriend. Well I'm on necon 7/7/7 and started a while ago, but for the first few months I would keep forgetting and have to start all over again.. Well about 5 months ago I started my birth control all over again (I stopped taking it for about 2 months to get it out of my system) then for about 2 months I took it on time and such. . the first month I got my period a week early, and I was scared out of my mind because my stepmom kept telling me I might be pregnant, blah blah blah... (took 2 tests, came back negative) so i had my period for about 2 weeks, then this month I've been taking it on time everynight, but I still got my period a week early. .

I'm wondering if this is normal or if there is something wrong with me? I'm open about my period but all my stepmom does is growl at me and tell me I'm pregnant and we get into a huge fight (never really saw eye-eye....) please help!!!
