Not Looking Forward To It
Every time I get ready to start my period I get these wicked bad cramps. It hurts to walk, sit, stand, and lay down. I mean everything! I take Midol, but that doesn't seem to really help lately. Also, I've tried Advil, and that really doesn't help! I am getting pretty sick of it, and my period just makes me want to block out life and lay in bed all day for a week. I've had my period for five months, and I wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions on how I could get rid of these awful cramps and maybe some new medicines that I can try. Great, thanks!

I also get the worst cramps in the world, i mean i cant do anything without doubling over and feeling sick, i was recently put on birth control and it seems to work wonders, it makes ur periods less painful, shorter and u can take it a certain time to make it come on a certain date - most of all it gets rid of most of my severe cramps, hopes this helps!

I take midol sometimes, but sometimes it doesn't help, Motrin really helps me. I also sit in a hot bath-tub, or use a heating pad. Sometimes nothing works and you just have to sit on your couch and cry. :( but i recently got on birth control to help with: steadying out my period, not getting pregnant-of course, and helping with cramps, but recently i've found out that the cramps don't go away, but instead of having one horrible day of it, i have a few days of it. but don't let that scare you. :) hopefully these things work.

Hi Katey,

It is too bad to hear about your painful cramps, however, having your period just starting, it will take a while before your body stabilizes. I certainly hope that over time, the pain will decrease. Medication doesn't seem like it is doing much for you. A surefire way to relieving cramps without any medication and side-effects is getting a good orgasm. Whether you have a boyfriend to give you one or whether you give one to yourself will put your cramps at ease. Not only does it decrease or even eliminate the pain, it sure is fun as well! Through the process of an orgasm, the contractions and release of your reproductive system alleviates and decreases the tension built up in your body. Through that, it is like getting an internal massage which relaxes your muscles! If you're not afraid of getting a bit messy or you can simply keep clean by doing it in the tub or using a tampon, then you've just learned the best way to get rid of cramps!

Youre problem is that you have only had them for a while, after a few months thay will calm down. Almost everyone has these problems when they first start.
