Bedridden
I am writing this article from my bed as I cannot get up without causing myself excruciating pain. My lower back has been hurting for about three days. It probably wasn't a good idea to workout at the gym when my back was already aching. Anyway, this morning I go to make a cup of tea, and I start to cough really hard. Next thing I know I am on the floor, and there's sugar everywhere. I coughed so hard I threw my back out. After about half an hour I was able to get up and plant myself in my bed. All day I have struggled to move and meet my own basic needs. I've cried because it hurts so badly. I talked to a friend, and he said it is probably either a pinched nerve or a pulled muscle. My mom also said it's a possibility I could have cracked or broken a rib, and that's why it is so painful. I am not one of those people that can stay bedridden long. I get bored and I like to be productive. Plus I have two jobs, go to school and have placement, so I can't afford the time off. I am wondering if anyone has experienced this. What I should do? I'm trying to avoid going to the doctor if I don't have to go. Please ease my pain! Thanks for your help. :)

yes actually. I went to get an hour long massage and asked her to work really hard on the part that hurts. it helped a lot. for anyone with back pain i would recommend those thermal wraps u get at the pharmacy, robaxin as an anti inflammatory, and if they have a gym with a pool and hot tub, go there and alternate from both ( hot and cold is good for ur back ). I also did some exercises in the pool. I did all this stuff and I was better in a week. I still have some sharp pains if i sit too long but it only feels like its bruised now, much better! thanks for ur help.

Aww i'm so sorry. I hope your back feels at least a little better now. Have you tried having someone give you a massage?
