Robotripping and Alcohol were my "things"
Now, in school, I didn't do much by the way of drugs until senior year. I was experimenting with pills a little, mostly percocets or aderall. I liked having an altered state of mind. I didn't really start toking regularly and heavily using pills until after graduation. I was smoking at least 6 times a day and taking whatever pills I could get my hands on. I had even considered trying cocaine, although I was too afraid to do it. After awhile I gave up everything so I could get a job, but I missed getting high, so I researched about DXM, a legal ketamine-like high. Of course, it is better known as Robotussin. I used to think it was a kiddy middleschool type drug, but soon learened it was crazy amazing and scary at the same time. I was taking 20 robo pills every 5 or 6 days for a month and was starting to build up a tolerance. I upped my dose to 150% and took 30 pills.
I remember puking and being out of it and fearing for my life, but it was the most intense amazing life changing high I have ever experienced. I am so tempted to do it agian, but I have certain friends and family members making sure I don't. So, I started drinking and partying to replace my drugs and robo.
Recently I have started taking Wellbutrin for my seasonal affective disorder which is supposed to help with addictions, also. I just can't slip up and drink heavily like I used to OR take robotussin or I could have a seizure or die.
I'm just warning people of drug use in combination with addictive personality disorder. You don't want to spend your life worrying about when you will get your next high. I am relatively drug free now, I don't recreationally take pills, robotussin, and I can't have alcohol. I may smoke marijuana every once in awhile, but I don't feel the need to, I don't get anxious when I don't have it.
Be careful if you do drugs. I'm not here to tell you not to, just to warn you and share my experience with you.
