I am Not Anorexic!
I am 18 years old, and I weigh 90 pounds. My family seems to think I am either anorexic or I am bulimic. But I am not! I like to eat, but I am on a new medicine that affects my hunger, so I don't eat that much. I could NEVER become bulimic because I hate throwing up. It just grosses me out. Everyone says I need to gain 20 pounds, but I don't agree with them. I want to gain 15 pounds. I definitely DO NOT want to lose any pounds because I don't want to be all skin and bones. But that's not the point. What should I do to prove to my family and my friends that I am not anorexic or bulimic?

Yeah, talking to your doctor seems like a wise thing to do. Ninety pounds is definitely thin, but it has to do with body structure too. When I tell people I'm 95 pounds, they swear I'm too lightweight, but at 5'0" I have a tummy, no doubt. And meds are complicated, all those chemicals... but something as simple as getting braces can change eating habits (like mine). People really should look at all the circumstances.

Tell them to talk to the doctor about the side-effects of your new meds. Also even if you arent hungry you should still try and eat when it is lunch time or dinner time etc...Try different things to see what works best, maybe only eating a lot of food once a day works best for you or small meals throughout the day.
