Suicidal PMS
When I'm on my period, I sometimes get so upset that I start thinking about suicide. It seems when I'm on my period everything in the world is just crashing down. When I'm not on my period, I'm a really happy-go-lucky person. How can I not feel so down when I'm on my period? It scares me, and sometimes it gets so hard to calm down that I think one day I might just snap. Along with my periods, I get them two weeks a month, seven days each week, so I'm constantly feeling depressed. I also have a failing immune system, so I am usually sick when I'm on my period. During the times I'm on my period my schoolwork drops tremendously. Does anyone know how to fix or have this problem?

Hi. I saw you are looking for some relief from period cramps. I am still battling PMS, monthly cramps, feeling really down, suicidal even, so I know what you are going through. I don't think everybody knows what it's like. Many say they have cramps, but not like me, and I get really depressed and emotional. I have been seeing an alternative doctor in Florida, that's where I live. She has got me on bioidentical hormones, which are acually all natural. The hormones are strictly plant based. They are full strength though, and I've gotten some relief when I was put on progesterone. I would recommend you see an endocrinologist. They specialize in hormones. They can test your hormone levels, and find out what is wrong. But make sure before you make an appointment that they specialize in hormone treatment, not all endocrinologists do, and make sure they are familiar with bioidentical hormones. Allot of doctors will try to get you on prescription pills, which in the long run will probably make things worse for you. Also don't let them trick you onto taking birth control pills, that actually shuts down all your hormones, and leaves you with more problems. I hope I have helped, and please stay strong, I know it is hard, and it really does sound from your symptoms, like you have hormonal imbalance. Wish you well.

Just get help.

Tell your doctor everything, that way you can get help. No-one should have to go through this, especially when help is available. Let us know how you get on. Go girl . . .

Yeah, you probably have a horomone imbalance of some sort. Go to a doctor, and he might give you birth control pills or something else of some sort to help it. I used to have one where I would skip every other month and my periods still last for eight days.

Please do not feel afraid to talk to both your school nurse and your school counselor for emotional support and for suggestions on what might help you. Even if your school counselor is a guy, he will also be able to be of help to you.
