Tampon Trouble
Yeah, this is kind of embarrassing seeing that I'm a rising junior, but I've tried every size and every angle to stick a tampon in haha, but it won't work. Did anyone else have this trouble? I've been trying for a long time, and I really have no clue what I'm doing. The first time I tried, no one mentioned to take the applicator out, so that was pretty interesting, but I know now how to put it in and everything from my friends. I know that we're all different sizes, but there shouldn't be anyone that can't wear them, right? I mean if we're big enough to give birth we should be big enough to wear a tampon. But I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. If it doesn't go in all the way, do I keep pushing or just take it out and start over?

hey girl. when i first got my period i went straight to a tampon. i don't know why but i just thought it was be more comfertible instead of wearing a pad. it feels like a freaking diaper! but anyway, i've gotten a few of my girls to start earing tampons too. don't feel weird, becasue they were scared at first too. but honestly- there's nothign to be scared about! ok- i know this is weird but who cares. okay well, i'm sure your friends have demonstrated it o yuo by taking it out of the wrapper, holding it, and pressing it out of the applicator as if you were putting it in. well- you've got that down. but before you try to put the tampon the theright whole, you might want to examine where the hole is. don't feel weird. you're not touching yourself- every girl has done it. but when you find the right hole, put the tapon in. then push the applicator up while you are still holding the other part of the applicator. if you feel that you haven't put it up far enough, then just feel free to press it farther up there with yuor finger. it's all good. just remember to wash your hands. haha. don't be scared to push it up there becasue the farther it is, the more comfertable it is and the less you will feel it. and if you're scared about TSS. avoid the "supers" girl. i haven't used one of those in my life. haha. i'm a small girl. i'm not trying to strech myself out by using a tampon. haha. well i hope my advice helped. good luck chick! 3

I also want to say that there is nothing wrong with choosing to wear only maxi pads....Tampons are less healthy as you are at greater risk for toxic shock syndrome and for yeast infections with internal protection. Also, tampons can just make you get too dry and sore inside your vagina whenever your flow is not heavy.

I don't see what the problem is...just wear pads!

LETS REVIEW

Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder.
The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort.
Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps.
Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed.
Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.
Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.
Use your other hand to open your vagina.
Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.
Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.
With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
Gently pull the two tubes out together.
Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.
When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet.
Tips  :
Lubricating the rounded end of the tampon with a water-based lubricant such as K-Y Jelly can make insertion easier the first few times. Don't use petroleum jelly.
Always read the manufactuer's instructions throughly before using any type of tampon.
If the tampon feels uncomfortable it is probably not inserted far enough into your vagina. Try again with a new tampon.

hey there girl. ok. this is coming from a girl who tried for almost 3 years to get a tampon in. . ok...um, there really isnt any "instructions" to tell you how to put one in, all you need to do is relax, and gently push the tampon in at a 45 degree angle (ie: not straight up, and not horizontally either)...good luck.
