Cannot Deal...
I'm 13 and I've only had my period for about 8 months. I absolutely hate it. I have really bad cramps(bad enough that I'll cry for hours straight), mood swings, and a lot more. I really really hate having it. I'm afraid to wear tampons and pads are such a pain. Does anyone know anything about that pill that makes you only have your period 4 times a year or is there anyway to make your period shorter? (I have it for 6 days. ) I'm also really afraid to talk to my mom about it. Can someone please give me some advice?

and they invited ibuprofen, advil and other over the counter pain killers for a reason. so if you can get to a gas station or drug store, it wouldn't be a bad idea. i get those kind of pains now, they make me get sick and all, i didn't at first. once you get the hang of it it's not that bad.

i only use tampons, but as far as the pill you can ask any doctor, even a school nurse. they can't say much but some can tell you something. there are birth controls that make your period shorter. you should just come out and talk to your mom abut it, i was the same way but one day i sent her an email about it all and she started the conversation, really not confortable cause my family doesn't talk about much so you'll live threw it if i did.

honestly i wouldn't reccommend that pill unless your doctor does. and tampons honestly arent bad they are soo much more comfy then pads they might hurt at first though. mine did but i got over it. and like i said to another person try a heating pad if you haven't

Don't feel like your'e alone . I wear pads and hate them, I am afraid that I stink. I was afraid to put tampons in, but I'm okay with it now. I am 13 and I have had my period since Christmas of 2005 . I was afraid to tell my Mom about it at first, but then I told her. I was so afraid to tell her, I called my Mom's friend Sandy, which is also my best friend, and told her about it.I didn't eat for days, I was so upset about it. But, I finally told her and she totally understood, and me and my mom don't talk about things like that if you know what I mean.I was so relieved when I told her about it,and she told me that that's wahat Moms are for.But just go ahead and tell her, it well be okay.

This is how a lot of girls feel when they first go through the change. I suggest that you gather up your courage and talk to your mom about going to the doctor if the cramps are unbearable. Sometimes cramps are way worse than they should be & the doctor should be able to prescribe something to help you deal with the pain. It could be that you just aren't used to the cramps and if thats the case then eventually they will seem like no big deal. You don't want to take a pill just to stop your period for most of the year unless you are actually having trouble with your period. Remember: We've all been where you are at.
