Sun and Eczema Don't Go Well Together!
Hi. My name is Chanelle, and I'm fifteen years old. I've suffered from eczema ever since I was a baby! That's fifteen long years! Now this is seriously depressing. I can't do certain things like most teenagers do because I can't or because I'm too shy because of my eczema.

It's the summer now, and I can't even wear a skirt or shorts because I have eczema all over my legs. How am I supposed to enjoy the weather when I'm boiling underneath clothes? If any of you have any suggestions, please tell me because I have been suffering from eczema for too long now. I want it to go NOW!

You're not alone. But the only diff is i have it on my scalp, so it looks like dandruff. Embaressing mucho. So what i do for my scalp is either dye my hair(the chemicals break it down) or wash it with selsun blue. You can't dye your legs so i would suggest washing them with selsun blue shampoo menthol. It breaks up the eczema. that's my advise, hope it helps. = )

i've got vitiligo..which white spots develop all over my body..it's really bad and i hate it.. i've had it since i was 4yrs old and now i'm 18. i'm not supposed to stay too much in the sun because it can get worse.. i live in malta where the sun always shines so it's really depressing to have to cover up my body in the summer. i cant wear skirts cause i hate people staring etc. these things really affect me. i wish i can be a normal person like everybody else

yeah ive had eczema since i was a baby and now im 16 and i never wear short sleeves or shorts or skirts or anything. im getting used to it though although it seriously sux like nothing else. nothing the determatologist gives me helps it although it goes away when the weather cools down which is why winter is my fave season.

hey, you might wanna go to the dermatologist. mine used to be really bad, so i went to the dermo, and he gave me some medicine. there's this tube of clear medicine you put on after a shower/bath. your skin's supposed to be damp when you put it on so that the medicine traps the water in. it's kinda icky, but it works. also, you might be breaking out. try not to get too stressed cuz that just makes you break out in hives more. and you might wanna use a lotion for sensitive skin. i use Cetaphil, and it works great! but again, it's kinda thick, but it keeps your skin from drying out and stuff. try to cut your nails and not scratch and put anti-itch medicine on the really itchy spots. good luck!
