Perforated Eardrum
I have a perforated eardrum because of my tubes.  They fell out and the hole should heal itself, but it didn't.  I am really scared of needles and am afraid of the surgery.  They said that I have to have an IV and this freaks me out.  They also said that I could get anesthesia first to avoid feeling the IV, but this would likely cost more for the anesthesiologist.  Has anyone else had this surgery?  How severe is the pain afterwords.  Please talk to me.  I am very conlicted on getting this surgey done.

I haven't had that surgey but I've had quite a few including four sets of ear tubes and trust me surgery is no biggie. Your miserable for about a day I won't lie about that. Its generally okay though. The iv isn't that bad you feel a little poke go in but once it is taped down *so you don't hit it* you really forget it is there. The surgery should be just fine best of luck to you.
