My Toe Stopped Growing

Sometime when I was between 8-11 the fourth toe on my left foot stopped growing. I don't know exactly when it stopped but it started to be noticibly shorter than the other one by the time I was 12. The doctor at the time said it was due to a growth plate injury. I don' t remember any big injury but I do surf a lot so my feet sometimes get banged around. The rest of my feet continued to grow so now at 17 my left fourth toe is no longer than my pinky toe. It is now starting to ride up a little sometimes and doesn't always touch the ground. Looks a little weird but what are ya gonna do? Anyone else have a toe just stop growing?

Girlfriend of mine has the same thing. Her right foot has 4th toe short and up on top of middle toe. Left foot her 4th toe is just short, but fits in between 5th & 3rd toes. She wears sandals but always with straps that hide her 4th toes
