What's gonna happen?
I'm pretty sure I have this TMJ stuff. it hurts to chew tough foods and when im under a lot of stress (which is like all the time) it really really hurts. last time i went to the denist (which was like six months ago) he told me to avoid meats, gum, basically anything hard to chew. it hasn't gotten any better really. i go back to the dentist next month and im kinda scared to talk to him about it. i want it to get better but what is he going to do? my mom says he'll probably make me have surgery and wire my jaw shut. i can't tell if shes trying to freak me out so she doesn't have to pay for the bills or she is telling me the truth. what does happen to people with TMJ??? what might i have to go through???

hi, well i just had a dentist appointment today..and i told them about my how my jaw pops and clicks all the time, and how it will hurt when i chew sometimes and what not. And he told me and my mom that i had early stages of TMJ, so if thats what my problem is, then it's probably the same thing.. only yours sounds worse. anyhoo, i had to get molds done of my teeth and now im getting this thing called an equlibriate, or a nitesplint, no surgery. The dentist said that it can cost up to $400.00, and insurance companies sometimes cover it, and sometimes don't. but anyways, good luck.. hopefully you will get something done to help you.
