100% Overbite

I just went to the dentist today, it was the first time I went to this particular place. Its a really big pediatric dental place and they have orthos there. The dentist said that the only reason he recommends braces is because I have a 100% overbite. 5 mm out and my teeth are also out of place, because when I bite down on the right side my bite is 1 whole tooth off. They said that it could cause inflammation or something in my gums when I'm older, but thats only a possibility. I really really dont want braces, and I would have to have them for 16 months plus a retainer to sleep in! I already got glasses this year and I definetly do not want braces!! My mom said that I don't really have to get them, they just want our money pretty much.

5 mm is nothing! I had a 14mm bite. I wouldn't be concerned with yours. Its not a big deal neway, so get over it.

Ok braces compltely give oyu a wondefull smile when they are done you could always get contacts.

Having braces is not much of a problem. While i don't have them I know many people who do have them. They say at some times the bracse get in the way of things but on the average they are not noticable. even my sister sometimes forgets she has them.
